Civic Assembly on Social Parenthood

On October 19 and 20, 2023, the first randomly drawn Civic Assembly on Social Parenthood, funded by the European Union and sponsored by the University of Milan (“La Statale”), will be held at the University of Milan.
The Civic Assembly on Social Parenting will be divided into two moments:
Thursday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: about 150 people will gather to hear the contributions of experts who, in various capacities and with different positions, will address the topics covered by the Assembly as part of four separate panels: assisted fertilization, pregnancy for others, legal recognition of children and adoptions. This will be followed by a question-and-answer and discussion phase between participants and experts;
Friday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.: a randomly drawn quota of participants, divided into working tables, will meet to compare and discuss with the help of professional facilitators, and to develop proposals and recommendations on various issues of social parenting. The final deliberation will be adopted by the 50 randomly drawn present and also voted on remotely by the rest of the participants.
